Fairbanks AK......7 days 500 miles

Marty and I

If anyone has ever been to Ak you might have seen some sort of crazy.. this is a 100% purebred AK Insanoman.....We spent an hour with him after he flagged us down from the end of his driveway. He has heard through the grapevine that we were comming down the dalton so he planted himself on the road and waited....Marty was the nicest Aker that I've met so far..but socially nuts(he had nearly 3 acres of nicknacks some would call junk). Marty is the man

Wups #1.... the next wups was 2 miles later

Rationing water, Eating too much venison jerky, averaging more than 70 miles a day, terrible haul roads, trucks kicking up dust, it was the best 500 miles I've ever done.

Brooks range was real exciting........

After completely taking advantage of an all you can eat buffet at the Prudhoe Bay Hotel(I filled a pannier with sandwiches) we set off at noon

Hitching Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay, Ak, 2 days, 500 miles, 5 rides for 70 miles, 1 ride 430

5 days to AK

Ryan and I hiked Mt. Tom in Bishop ..(The mountian on the top of the page). Left @ 5am, Risking our lives within 45 min of the hike. 30Lb pack w/a snowboard attached trying to circumnavigate a sketchy ridgeline wearing snowboard boots.
We summited after 8-9 hours. Great descent, good for snowboard bad for skis.
